If you have never tried a triathlon, new events are springing up everywhere which gives you more options to choose from. We have a number of different events from competing in actual triathlons, to participating in structured training camps or giving you access to triathlon training facilities where you can train by yourself, or in a group.
The three component parts of a triathlon are all equally important but as cycling is the one that is the furthest and normally lasts the longest, many tri-athletes focus on optimising their bike leg to deliver the greatest overall improvement. An experienced cycling coach can make a difference to your cycling-leg performance but a coach with expertise in Road, Time Trial and Track cycling will help you make big gains.
Tri-athletes don’t have time to waste on inefficient training so we plan every single session with you to ensure it is tailored to your needs and delivers specific goals based on your current ability and fitness levels.
Amongst other things we will analyse your riding position as many minutes can often be saved simply by improving your position. Clipping on a pair of aero-bars is fine for those trying their first few triathlons but for those that want to get really serious there is a great deal more we can do to achieve your optimum efficient cycling position. This is why we film you riding and then analyse the footage with you to make recommendations for you to try.
For those wanting full triathlon training during the winter or when recovering from injury, we have an exclusive home gym. It is equipped with a resistance pool, turbo trainer to attach to your bike and a running machine. The equipment could be used for bespoke brick sessions or complete triathlon training.
We also run various Triathlon training camps throughout the year in the UK and abroad. We combine calm seas / lakes, fast quiet roads and glorious views. All meals are included as are guided bike rides with our British Cycling Road and Time Trial coaches. There are open water swimming sessions, brick/running sessions and mini Tri's over various distances to improve your strength, speed and endurance.
We deliberately keep athlete to coach ratios low. We have found this ensures every person gets the maximum benefit, not only through the physical phases but in discussions and reflective learning with our coaches. Coaches will eat get to know and socialise with the guests and be around during your stay for questions and one to one chats and advice.
Nothing at our training camps is compulsory. We want you to be able to relax and have fun as well as train so it's totally up to you what you take part in - you can do as much or as little as you like. There is always a Sports Masseur on site and massages are available most evenings.
