Cyclo-cross is also one of the most accessible forms of cycling. It takes place throughout the autumn and winter in off-road venues such as public parks and other open spaces. Surfaces normally include grass, mud, gravel and sand and courses are short with multiple laps completed over a set distance.
Courses have obstacles such as hurdles, tree roots and sand pits so that riders are forced to dismount and run with their bikes. To cater for this bikes have skinny tyres, rigid frames and forks and dropped handlebars.
Cyclo-cross is different from other type of bike riding as it is a personal battle between the rider and the course rather than other riders. This makes it great for all abilities and ages and our training is a great way to build skills and confidence and pick up tips before your enter your first race or help you improve your performance.
